The Ernie Ball Music Man Short Scale StingRay in Black brings the unmistakable StingRay character into a compact, beautifully balanced instrument. Its ash body is finished in a sleek high gloss polyester black, giving it a refined presence while maintaining the bold visual identity of the StingRay family. At 8 lbs 5 oz, it offers a comfortable balance that feels equally at home on stage or in the studio.
With a 30 inch scale length, the StingRay offers an effortless playing feel with a warm, responsive character. The roasted maple neck is paired with an ebony fretboard, 22 stainless steel frets, and understated dot inlays. The neck measures 0.833 inches (21.16 mm) at the nut and 0.936 inches (23.77 mm) at the 12th fret. A gunstock oil and hand rubbed special wax blend gives the neck a smooth, natural feel, while the five bolt neck joint provides a secure foundation. The adjustable truss rod can be accessed without removing components or strings.
A passive Neodymium StingRay Humbucker delivers the powerful, articulate voice this bass is known for, while the rotary three way control offers parallel, single coil, and series configurations for a versatile range of tones. The vintage Music Man top loaded bridge features a black steel bridge plate with vintage black colored steel saddles, complemented by lightweight custom Music Man tuning machines with tapered string posts and ergonomic clover designs.
Strung with 45w, 65w, 85w, and 105w Short Scale Regular Slinky Bass strings, the StingRay is ready to play straight from the case. It includes a padded softshell case and is designed for right handed players.
