Fender Power Jazz Bass Special 1989 w/strap lock & gigbag - One of a Kind!

This is a Fender Power Jazz Bass Special, and it truly is a one of a kind bass. The neck has been turned fretless by the previous owner, and while it was not the most clean job done, the neck plays fabulously.  The bridge on this bass is the original bridge, and apparently it was only produced for this model of bass guitar.  Looking at the serial number on the headstock (and according to a knowledgeable dude here) it's from 1989. 

The knobs on this bass are unlike any other component system found on a Fender bass; the black toggle switch is the pickup selector and the little metal toggle switch allows the player to switch from passive to 2 different active sounds.  The knob next to the black knob is master volume, and the two next to the silver toggle are tone controls in passive mode, and treble & middle in one of the active modes.

You can seriously go from deep, wooly sounds to incredibly bright and brittle sounds, almost like a piccolo bass! My personal favorite sound comes from running the J pickup solo while in active mode.  It is in great playing condition, but could stand to be set up again.  It is currently strung with flatwounds.  I have it listed in good condition for the way the neck was converted into a fretless neck, but there seriously isn't a scratch on any other part of the bass.  The neck does jut out of the body just a little bit.

*It was also brought to my attention that the A-string saddle has an issue with one of its screws; the right side cannot be lowered.  I believe this can be an easy fix for those who are handy with small pieces, but the bass is completely playable and has no issues with the neck.
