Wonder why Ry Cooder made the gold foil pickups from guitars like this time capsule famous? As the video demo attests, its all about the tone, 'bout the tone.
The TRE-110 with a built-in amp is also similar to the model Howlin' Wolf reportedly played. It was also sold as the Silvertone 1487.
The 9-volt circuit that the built-in amp runs on was overheating, so we've bypassed the amp (which was always a bit of a novelty anyway) to make this player ready.
And boy is it ready. Mahogany body, nicely designed inlays and in very nice condition. The knobs don't appear to be original, but everything else is. And for someone who wants to sort out the mini amp, its all in there. FYI, the TRE-110 was the tremolo version of the TRE-100 model.
We have lots of other great guitars and gear -- a collector-grade Silvertone Danelectro 1448 with amp-in-case, several supercool U.S.-made Sano amps and a 1965 KAPA Continental. Plus there is more fantastic stuff we are getting ready to list, so please check out the rest of the shop and point friends and fellow musicians our way.

About Automatic Jack
As with all the axes in the Automatic Jack Shack, the Swede -- my guitar
craftsman and collaborator in gear -- has given this his full treatment,
checking, fixing and optimizing all the electronics, hardware and
functionality from headstock on down. Of course, our vintage is
old stuff,
so bear in mind that many of our listings are for 30-40+ year-old
instruments, with the typical kind of wear and quirks that comes with
that. Vintage gear tends to be imperfect and in need of ongoing care. We
are dedicated to delivering the most playable, high-quality and
modestly-priced guitars and gear we can. But we are players and people.
We want to offer great deals and deal with great people.
