B-Stock Link Audio Design SLQ51X 500 series Parametric EQ a la SSL

Here is a brand new Link Audio Design SLQ51X Brown knob EQ in 500 series. While it is brand new it arrived with a bit of silk screen missing off of the faceplate and the Low frequency gain knob missing the colored insert. It may be possible to replace but that will have to be pursued on the buyer's end. The module is perfectly controllable as is and guaranteed to work just as well as any other built unit.

Link Audio Design has been offering their takes on the famous British consoles of the 1980's which featured a (at the time) mind-bogglingly sculptive EQ. It featured +/- 15dB gain in 4 bands with a pair of fully parametric Mid bands and selectively shelving/peaking High and Low bands. Each band's frequency sections overlaps handsomely with each neighboring band. This increased resonant interaction allows for some unique EQ moves that only a very few audio gear designers had ever tried.

The Brown knob EQ's of the 4000 series of these consoles was particularly lauded for its low band's harmonic representation. This made it a favorite on rock kick drums among many for decades to come.

While the original console EQ's had a pair of sweepable high and low pass filters, sadly there is only so much you can fit onto the 500 series format. Thankfully there are two fixed filter frequencies engageable by a pair of pushbutton switches. The frequencies are 80hz and 8khz respectively.

The On switch controls a relay set for a true hardwire bypass.
