Built in Connecticut during Hamer's strongest USA era, the Newport Pro is a fully hollow double-cut with a spruce top — not a laminated maple 335 clone, and it doesn't sound like one. The spruce gives it more acoustic bloom and a woodier midrange, and the smaller body keeps it tight and feedback-resistant where a full-size hollowbody would boom. It's genuinely responsive unplugged.
Factory Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers: unpotted, alnico 2, low output, wound to pre-1961 PAF spec. Sweet top end, no harshness, and they come alive at low volume in a way potted modern humbuckers don't. This is the pairing that makes the guitar — spruce and Seths together give you warmth with clarity instead of mud.
6 lbs 12 oz on the scale. Comfortable for long sessions, sitting or standing.
**Condition:** Very good. A few small impressions and superficial scratches, all pictured — nothing structural, no breaks, no repairs. Frets have plenty of life. Electronics all function correctly. Fresh setup. Plays well as-is.
**Included:** Non-Original hardshell case.
USA Hamers from this period are still one of the better values in American-built guitars — the woodwork and hardware are on par with instruments costing considerably more, and the Newport Pro in particular doesn't come up often. Happy to answer questions or send additional photos.
