Moonlight Overdrive
The Moonlight Overdrive is the brother to the 3rd Coast Sunset Overdrive sharing much of the same design philosophy but providing a different overall tone and feel. The Moonlight Overdrive is a bit tamer than its brother but provides just as much harmonic overtones and saturation with less fuzz and more grit. It can be described as a smooth overdrive.
This is my “always on” overdrive effect. It cleans up nicely when rolling off the gain or guitar volume without losing volume at the amplifier but retains a nice overtone in the sound coming from the amp. I use this method when I need a clean tone and the harder I play, the more overdrive I can get out of it. It is for the dynamic guitarist, such as blue players, that want to feel their tone emotionally without having to mess with too many controls or change their sound by turning on and off other overdrive effects.
