Vintage mid/late-1970s Epiphone FT-160 Texan — a Japanese-made 12-string dreadnought from Epiphone’s Norlin era, finished in classic 2-color sunburst and in fantastic condition. Built by Matsumoku in Japan and dated by its blue soundhole label to the mid/late ’70s, this Texan pairs a laminated spruce top with mahogany back and sides, a slim three-piece bolt-on neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays across 20 frets. Six-per-side chrome tuners and a rosewood adjustable bridge complete the vintage-correct appointments. Includes its original hard case.
These Texans are prized for their comfortable, fast-playing neck and a bright, jangly 12-string voice with a lively midrange — a true player’s instrument from a bygone era of Epiphone acoustics. Finding one in this kind of shape, with the original case, is increasingly rare.
