Martin introduced the Performing Artist series in response to the growing demand from guitarists seeking an instrument that performs excellently both acoustically and amplified. The GPCPA4 combines the balanced Grand Auditorium body shape with a sapele back and spruce top. This wood combination delivers a warm, balanced sound with good projection, with sapele providing a slightly brighter character than mahogany. The High Performance Taper neck profile and narrower neck gauge make this guitar particularly accessible to players who move frequently between chords and solos.This Martin was built in 2014 and is in very good condition. The guitar shows signs of wear and dings on the top and back, as well as on the neck. The matte finish on the body and neck has largely turned glossy, and it is noticeable that the bridge saddle is a bit on the low side.
