The 1972 Fender Telecaster is a vintage solid-body electric guitar built during Fender's early CBS-era production period, using a bolt-on maple neck construction with a 25.5-inch scale length and the traditional single-cutaway Telecaster body shape. This example has been refinished in Dakota Red, replacing the original factory finish while retaining the core structural platform of the instrument.
The hardware layout follows the classic Telecaster configuration with a string-through-body bridge and chrome control plate arrangement. The neck construction and bridge design produce the direct attack, strong sustain, and upper-mid clarity associated with early-1970s Telecasters, while the refinished body gives the instrument a non-original cosmetic presentation.
This modified version includes a replaced bridge pickup and upgraded volume potentiometer. The replacement bridge pickup alters the original factory electronics specification, while the updated volume control improves operational reliability and sweep response compared with ageing vintage components. The guitar retains the traditional Telecaster control layout and overall tonal identity centred around articulation, snap, and dynamic response.
