About this listing
The Fender Custom Shop / Jaco Pastorius Tribute Fretless Jazz Bass 3-Tone Sunburst is now in stock as a used item!! Serial No.: R20236; this instrument was manufactured in 2004. Jaco Pastorius vastly expanded the possibilities of the jazz bass and revolutionized the history of the bass guitar. This tribute model, crafted by the Fender Custom Shop, faithfully recreates his legendary instrument and sound with exceptional precision. Jaco Pastorius is synonymous with the fretless bass. His singing, expressive tone, overwhelming dynamics, and one-of-a-kind presence continue to influence countless bassists to this day. This instrument was crafted after a thorough study of his beloved bass; every detail of its appearance?from the pickguard-less design to the relic finish that replicates the effects of aging?embodies a deep respect for Jaco. More than just a signature model, it is a special instrument that conveys his musicality and philosophy. The body is crafted from carefully selected alder. Combined with a nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this achieves a rich tone and vintage-like response. The neck is crafted from maple and features a comfortable C-shaped profile. The fingerboard is made of slab rosewood, which produces the smooth fingering, distinctive attack, and excellent sustain characteristic of Jacofs playing. It is equipped with custom vintage Jazz Bass pickups developed with the cooperation of Jaco himself and his associates. Due to the relic finish, it is difficult to assess the extent of scratches and dents, but the instrument is in good condition and offers excellent playability. Of course, the truss rod is in perfect working order. Please consider taking advantage of this opportunity. * As this is a consignment item, we are unable to negotiate the selling price.
