Handbuilt NOS Soviet Valve Preamp / Overdrive
The 6J5B Tube Driver is a fully handbuilt preamp and overdrive pedal built around a NOS Soviet 6J5B mini valve, designed to cover everything from warm classic rock saturation to aggressive fuzz like textures.
At its core is a responsive tube driven gain stage with a natural, dynamic feel and rich harmonic content. An additional boost stage can push the pedal further into heavier overdrive and fuzz territory when needed, while still retaining clarity and touch sensitivity.
The pedal features:
• Fat switch for added low end and thicker response
• Voice switch that changes the clipping character by switching between silicon and germanium diodes
• Wide gain range from edge of breakup to full saturation
• Excellent cleanup and dynamic response with guitar volume and picking attack
• Powered by standard 9V DC center negative supply
Built completely point to point by hand, with carefully selected components and a custom finished enclosure.
Each unit is individually assembled, tested and tuned by ear.
