Alembic Spoiler SMB5 - Birdseye Maple Top - Made in USA (1985)
With a low end rumble that would shake the core of Middle Earth, forged from the sinews of giants and infused with the spirit of all things rock and roll, this 1985 Alembic Spoiler Bass is going to blow your mind! A true work of art with a carved mahogany body, a beautiful Birdseye maple top (matching the front and back of the headstock) and a maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. To be honest, the photos and video don't do it justice, this top is incredible and looks alive when you look at it.
Shallow D-shaped medium scale neck (32") and minimal fret-wear for a beast of this age. Brass bridge, saddle, and nut for an impressive amount of resonance, sustain, and purity of tone unmatched by lesser basses.
There are a few marks here and there... nothing unusual for a bass that is approximately 40 years old... I think the pictures speak for themselves. With the exception of the strings and drums, nothing has been replaced on this bass!
Unfortunately the original case is not present, but it comes in an excellent Thomann "Premium" bag.
