Fender Vintage Player Stratocaster 2001-2002 - Aztec Gold

Fender Vintage Player 60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar in Aztec Gold. Only 250 copies of this model were made - here's the story: In 2001, Fender produced the Vintage Player series in a limited edition exclusively for the European market. The series consisted of 4 models of which 250 were made each: a white 50s Strat, a blue 60s Strat, a gold 50s Strat and the gold 60s Strat for sale here. JW Black (yes, THE J.W. Black - the man behind "The Fender Bass" and master builder in the Fender Custom Shop) designed all the models - to which the COA said: "Your Vintage Player guitar has been designed to provide the cosmetic charm of Fender's original sought-after collector's vintage guitars, while incorporating all the features that give the player maximum versatility." So vintage design meets modern spec - the best of both worlds. Only American electronics and hardware are installed here, which are also custom made:

- USA Texas Special pickups with reverse wound/reverse warp custom winding and modified with a lower ground bolt for a more balanced sound

- USA Vintage Bridge with original steel block for authentic tone - Gotoh Tuners (as installed in the Eric Johnson Signature)

- American vibrato - Complete American electronics (CTS pots, Switchcraft 5-position switch, etc.) - 9.5" radius for low action

- 21 medium jumbo frets for faster playing and easier bending - the body is insulated with graphite color to minimize unwanted background noise Alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard

- a true Fender Stratocaster. The guitar was recently cleaned with Dunlop products, the body polished and the fingerboard soaked in Lemon Oil - fresh .09 slinkies on it, the thing is ready to go. Comes with hardcase!
