Friedman Marsha #8, Fully Serviced, Guns 'n Roses

was owned by dj ashba during guns n roses, 50W marsha. has minor road wear. a new mojotone cabinet would be about $350, but i wouldn't dare change it.

non master volume amps are the only way to go. you can plug into either input and use the footswitch to change between the plexi channel and the hairy brown eye channel for higher gain. they are both extremely close, similarly voiced. one has more gain. the transition between the two is the stuff of legend, it's insanely seamless. it's mental.

a very prized possession. an amp i said i never sell. but i just got some vintage 60s marshalls. and although this 50w amp is better at doing certain stuff, i'm going to stick with vintage because not playing heavy music. i also have several incredible bogner modded jcm800's and those a bit more unruly. this amp is like the perfect marshall, and more toneful and vintage voiced than any modern friedman amp. you could play a metallica show with this amp. you could also get an awesome clean plexi sound. you have two channels to set rhythm/lead, and a footswitch with independent volume controls. you can get extremely good tone at low volume especially with lower voltage. impossible to get a bad sound out of this thing. the highest gain setting is usable, as is the lowest.
put on the map by jerry cantrell, i've had 5 of these. i would never mod this amp, but you have a lot of mods available, and the ability for him to add a dedicated true clean channel. he also does a superb effects loop.
amp is better than new, and has had tube sockets fixed. there was some stuff to clean up. upgraded power cable. sale includes the receipt, about $350. there are no changed capacitors or parts. amp tech chris cecil improved some build flaws, in order to create more reliability and stability. i have the invoice here with those details. i recall something about the tube sockets being weak. the guy's the most thorough of all time, an real electrical engineer, all he does is improve things. amp fully gone through and tested. incredible knowledge and service. amp has been completely safety checked and sounds better than ever. it's a very hot plate voltage, i believe over 500, maybe 520-530. it's a truly incredible amp. this is the one i chose to keep.
