Since its introduction in 1934, the Martin D18 14 fret has proven to be one of the benchmarks in the acoustic guitar world. Only 258 were produced in 1936, making a guitar from this year of construction a rarity today.
It has mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top with the famous forward shifted bracing, coupled to a mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. The pickguard has been replaced by a newer one. Also a bridge doctor has been installed under the top, the guitar got a neck reset, bridge replaced by a perfect replica bridge, the top has some cracks, two of which run underneath the pickguard.
Two patches have been applied to the shoulder of the body, and a couple cracks have been repaired on the side of the lower bout. The body and neck are oversprayed, and the tuners have been replaced, but the original ones are included. The guitar comes in a hardshell case.
