Gretsch Duo Jet owned by Brian Setzer Collector Grade 1958

This guitar was owned and played by Brian Setzer for 26 years.  He found it in the 80s and was excited because its a rare transitional model that had the Dynasonic Pickups and the Neo classical inlays which are normally associated with a 59 but the Dynasonics from 58 which is similar to what Gene Vincents guitar player Cliff Gallup used.  Setzer went on to use this guitar on several recordings including the Stray Cats covers of many Gene Vincent songs, Cruisin', Race With The Devil, Blue Jean Baby and a few others.  To hear the guitar in action watch the linked video.  The guitar was setup by TV Jones in the 90s.  It has a killer setup.

Mr. Setzer brought this guitar into Willie's American Guitars in 2014 and traded it with several others to the shop owner.  Mentioning he was putting his daughter through college.  Brian had the period correct Bigsby installed shortly after he bought the guitar in the 80s.

The guitar is in great shape for its age and it has the original case which is also in quite good shape.  The guitar was photographed as part of Brian Setzer's guitar collection on his web site.  A bit of digging on his web site you can still see this guitar photographed there.  It has a signed letter from the shop owner stating that this guitar belonged to Brian Setzer. 

I bought this guitar several years back and vowed to never sell it but I genuinely need the money.  I owned a Baritone Spectra Sonic Gretsch that was also owned by Mr. Setzer so I can let this go knowing I still own one of his instruments.
