H. S. Anderson Madcat (Prince Tele) 1972 Flame Maple - RARE

Excellent Condition - original H. S. Anderson Madcat telecaster that I've owned since it was new in 1972. Identical to Prince's workhorse tele that he has used for many years. (NOTE, this is not the current re-issue and not the Hohner version that was produced in the 80's - this is the REAL THING.) Gorgeous solid flame maple with 1/2" rosewood center strip, front and back - an incredible-looking instrument.

First time being offered - in honor of Prince's "Pectrum Electrum" CD and tour.

This guitar was the original factory sample that the Morris Guitars East Coast reps (NHF Music, Inc.) took to various US dealer guitar shows when it was first introduced. (I used to teach guitar in high school and had a wholesale account with the rep firm - the owner offered to sell it to me after the trade show tours in 1972). It's a real beauty, as would be expected of the factory sample instrument. Has the original triangular hardshell case and even the "ashtray" bridge cover. Completely original, never modified or damaged. One tiny ding near the heel - circled on detail photo (#6).

Has been a prized part of my collection for many, many years, always kept in its case in my smoke-fee home.

A few of these original models have come up for sale in recent years at over $6K, primarily in Europe and Japan, this one is THE very first: it has no serial number and is in totally original condition, as you can see in the photos. Certainly possible that it is worth much more than my asking price - truly a collector's item.
