PRS John Mayer "Super Eagle" Prototype Auction To Benefit Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center

For over 20 years PRS have been making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD by putting charitable financial efforts toward the care of it's patients as well as their families unmet supportive care needs.  

Their impact has been felt literally by thousands of patients and families across the globe.

The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center is a comprehensive cancer center located in the city of Baltimore, MD. They are the cancer center of Johns Hopkins Medicine and their research has been the basis of many of the most fundamental discoveries in modern cancer medicine history. Central to all of that has remained a commitment to patients and families – a commitment that Johns Hopkins shares with PRS.

Through PRS’ relationship with John Mayer, PRS are happy to host this auction for this very limited PRS Early "Super Eagle" Prototype Electric Guitar in which 100% of the proceeds will benefit the patients and families of John’s Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.

The Private Stock “Super Eagle” is the result of a very close collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and Grammy-winning musician John Mayer. 

The goal of the partnership was to create a highly-sophisticated and unique instrument that at once reveres the history of guitar-making and guitar tone yet pushes the boundaries of materials, design, and craftsmanship. The result is a truly new PRS instrument that embodies the PRS Private Stock culture of meticulous workmanship as well as Mayer’s keen eye for playability, tone, and detail.

This specific guitar is an early prototype and served a unique purpose in the early stages of development between Paul and John to achieve the sound and feel of what the Super Eagle would eventually evolve into. This is a one-of-a-kind prototype guitar with distinctive specifications that sets it apart from the original 100 pc. Private Stock Super Eagle limited run.
