Near mint early 1986 PRS custom. All original including pickups, sweet switch, hardware. VY is my favourite early PRS colour and the BRW fretboard and birds are gorgeous. Stunning top. Case is original and has slight damage to one corner (see photo) but all latches work and it closes securely. Sounds and plays great. I just acquired a very similar ‘86 which is player grade and don’t need both.

Overview

At a time when most guitar companies were simply copying or slightly modifying the tested platforms of Fender and Gibson (which Paul Reed Smith did himself in his "pre-factory" days), the PRS Custom 24 -- simply called "PRS Custom" in the first catalog -- made use of a new, fresh shape, unique 25" scale with 24 frets, and premium woods for stunning flametops. The first factory-made PRS Custom 24s shown here used Brazilian Rosewood fretboards.
