About this listing
A lovely RG770fm made in Japan in 2001.This model was only ever made for 1 year and for the Japanese market only. This is one of only two guitars that have a Wizard IV neck; the other one is JPM models (John Petrucci). When John Petrucci left Ibanez in 1999, the necks that were made for his JPM models were used in this RG770fm release. The neck is 42mm wide at the nut and has a more rounded profile with 19.5 mm thickness at fret 1 and 21.5 at the 12th fret, with a fretboard radius of 17" (430mm).Wizard IV Specs and FeelScale Length: 648 mm / 25.5 inchesNut Width: 42 mm (slightly narrower than the classic 43mm Wizard)Width at 12th Fret: 56 mmThickness: ~19.5 mm at the 1st fret up to ~21.5 mm at the 12th fretContour: A fast, slender C-shape profile that feels slightly more filled out than a paper-thin original Wizard, yet remains nimble and narrow. The frets are in as-new condition with no wear at all.The rosewood fretboard is in perfect condition with no wear. The original Quantum humbuckers have been replaced with a set of brand new Ibanez V7/V8 humbuckers. The functionality of the 5 Way switch is as factory wired. The body has a flamed maple cap.The body has some small paint chips at the edge of the contour at the back, and some minor damage at the edge of the contour at the buttom/right that was repaired with minimal intrusion (the slight dings were filled, sanded, and polished; some wood is shown through, but the surface is perfectly smooth to the touch). The bridge is perfect and returns to pitch every time.Essentially, for the age of this guitar, it is in great condition and set up with super-low action on Super Slinkys.Apart from the humbuckers, the guitar is 100% original.
