About this listing
100 of these models were produced by the Gibson Custom Shop; 50 were sold in the US, and the other 50 were distributed internationally. This specific guitar was originally sold from Soundland Musik in Stuttgart, GE, and was subsequently purchased by RJV Guitars in Apeldoorn, NL solely for resale; as such, I'm technically only the 2nd owner. I was attracted to this Pelham Blue edition for the chrome hardware which allowed me to receive all of the other great ES-359 appointments sans gaudy gold Vegas vibe, particularly the bound ebony fretboard with mother of pearl inlays as well as the one-piece mahogany neck, 30/60 neck profile, 24 3/4” scale length, 1 11/16” wide nut, Grover tuners, ’57 classic humbuckers, nitro lacquer finish, and triple-edged body binding. Of course, the ES-359 has the original hard shell Gibson Custom Shop case, and I even had a custom case shroud made but never permanently attached to the case; I'm including the shroud as well as a used Gibson Custom Shop cloth along with the original case candy and certificate of authenticity. OHSC pictures are not retouched other than to flip them for proper angle and, in some cases, using Preview's "Remove background" feature to reduce clutter. I'll provide the original pics if you absolutely have to see my beige carpet and studio clutter. Of note, there is a small depression on the bottom of the case, but the integrity and aesthetics of the case are "Excellent" as well.As soon as I received the guitar, I put it on the workbench and removed the bridge, bridge height adjustment thumbwheels, tailpiece, and pickguard to assess all aspects; the two slight paint cracks around the bridge posts were the only anomalies I found, though I found a few more minor rubs and blemishes as I was making the tour video. I thoroughly cleaned the fretboard, polished every fret, polished all of the chrome hardware, and then restrung with D'Addario NYXL 10's. Painstakingly leveled bridge to match string heights per Gibson spec and adjusted intonation as necessary. Absolutely no operational or playing issues...turns out I'm just a Strat guy that wanted to try on a Gibson.
