Alexander Pedals has a new effects pedal capable of unique, extraordinary sounds.
The Colour Theory pedal is a step sequencer in a stompbox. However, instead of cycling through the sounds of a synth or drum machine, it cycles through different effects being applied on top of your original signal. The company calls it a Spectrum Sequencer, and it’s easy to understand why—by varying the level and type of effect across the steps, you can create swirling, kaleidoscopic patterns.
As you can see in the video above, the pedal comes with a number of preset effects—Octave, Filter, Delay, Oscillator, and more. Each step along the sequence can be treated with more or less of each effect, or with any number of different parameters you can change on the pedal itself or through the included NEO Series software.
You can also save and recall presets on the unit through the software or use an expression pedal to morph between settings. The Colour Theory is set to be released in February.
