One of the most popular boutique overdrives of all time is getting a remake for 2020 with the help of an effects giant.
An all-time bestseller on Reverb for years and favorite topic of guitar forums, the Timmy is one of those capstones many players would put on a list of desert-island pedals. Admired, studied, and approximated since its introduction, the Timmy earned its spot in the effects pantheon for an almost completely transparent mid-range bark that won't compress your sound.
However, thanks to the marriage of small-scale operation (Cochrane builds each by hand) and rabid fan base, extensive waitlists became part and parcel with new Timmys. Now, by partnering with MXR, Paul Cochrane aims to spread his gospel of sweet tone to an even wider audience.
Sporting the same controls for volume, gain, and treble/bass EQ, the MXR Timmy borrows its three-way clipping switch from the second version of the original for more flavors on deck.
The MXR Timmy drops February 1. Click the "Follow" button above to add the MXR Timmy to your feed and be notified as soon as they become available. Or, click here to see all used versions of original Paul Cochrane Timmys currently on Reverb.
