Just In: JHS Relaunches Ross With 5 Revived Circuits

Josh Scott and JHS have just announced that after years of development, JHS is officially rereleasing the Ross line of pedals.

Ross pedals were originally built by the late Bud Ross, who was truly a jack of all trades. Guitarists likely knew him best as the founder and builder of Kustom Amps—that is until the late '90s, when his then-unassuming '70s-era Ross Compressor landed on Trey Anastasio's pedalboard and guitarists all over scrambled to get ahold of one themselves.

In the years since, several brands have released similar circuits that pay homage Ross' original line, and in fact the Ross Compressor specifically has had a big hand in inspiring the boutique pedal market on a whole.

Everything You Need to Know About Ross Pedals

For this special relaunch, JHS partnered with Bud Ross' family to revive the Ross effects brand with both the classic aesthetic of the original line as well as the circuitry and sound that made them so special.

JHS is bringing back five Ross circuits that are all available now. Check them out below, and click any of the "Shop now" buttons to pick up your own, right here on Reverb.

Ross Fuzz
Ross Fuzz

The Ross Fuzz pedal is a tribute to the transistorized Kustom distortion effect that was not previously a part of Ross history. It was pulled from the Kustom amplifiers that Bud Ross made during his Kustom Electronics era, which was used by various artists, including John Fogerty and the Grateful Dead.
