Fender Precision Bass 1979 - a very cool historic P Bass w/direct ties to "Phil Lynott" of Thin Lizzy @ Miami Jai Lai 1979 !!

Just in is this really cool rock star owned 1979 Precision Bass w/all the right stuff w/a cool story behind it. It once belonged to & was used by Phil Lynott of “Thin Lizzy” during their 1979 Tour in the States. On July 22, 1979, Phil & his band opened up for Journey at the “Miami Jai Lai” where it was a regularly used concert hall for quite a few years. Thin Lizzy performed like Lizzy always does…they rocked the house. Unknown to Phil nor his band mates & roadies when leaving, they left this bass & a bunch of amps behind as crews missed loading up this gear. This bass & all the amps sat in the Miami Jai Lai’s warehouse for quite a few years until being acquired by an employee who worked there for years. He was a very unassuming guy not trying to make up a story as he was not a fan personally. It’s exactly as it was when new in 1979 when Phil played it briefly. It has an original Black finish over a heavy alder body, its Rosewood Neck is a very rare “A” spec neck w/a 1 5/8″ nut like a Jazz Bass & is super clean dated to 1979. Its original special requested “Mirror” pickgard w/its thumb rest in its proper place was Phil Lynott’s trademark & pulls this all together making it one of Rock & Rolls most beloved Bass Players forgotten tools simply left behind. Its split pickup is super punchy. Its original pot codes date to 1979 & another set of pots dated slightly, later are installed in the bass w/its originals still in the case pocket. It has a nice rather clean patina for a 45 year old original. It plays & feels excellent having killer sustain & tone qualities w/a period black hard case. We have a few pics from the internet we are displaying to show him using it that nite. No other docs come w/her. Just a really cool story & chance to own 1 of your favorite Brit players P Basses.
