The Shin’s Music Mighty Boost is one of those rare pedals that solves multiple problems at once without feeling overly complicated. At its core, it’s a highly transparent booster and studio-quality buffer—but the Presence control is what makes it genuinely different from most pedals in this category.
Designed by Shin's Music and manufactured in collaboration with MXR/Dunlop, the Mighty Boost was built to deliver natural gain enhancement without drastically coloring your core tone. Instead of forcing a baked-in EQ curve onto your rig, it lets you shape the feel and response of the signal itself—from sharper, hi-fi articulation to thicker, more rounded low-mid character.
At minimum Boost settings, the pedal functions as a low-impedance buffer amp, helping preserve clarity and high end across longer cable runs and larger pedalboards. Unlike many buffers, though, the Mighty Boost remains friendly with vintage-style fuzzes, wahs, and germanium-based circuits—something Shin specifically designed around.
The result is a pedal that works equally well as an always-on tone enhancer, a clean solo boost, or the front-end “glue” for an entire board. It’s compact, pedalboard-friendly, and quietly one of the more useful utility pedals available for players who care about maintaining feel and response.
