About this listing
Casio DG-20 digital guitar synthesizer in Very Good conditionGreat sounding, fully working instrument with light wear and battery residue as listed below. The strangest thing Casio ever built and one of the most collectible. Rubber strings over fret buttons, 20 tones, 12 rhythms, and four drum pads on the upper bout so you can play guitar and drums at once. MIDI out, so it also works as a controller for anything in your rack. Built in speaker and battery power meant you could carry it anywhere. Made in Japan, 1987 to 1988. Complete with the original box, owner's manual, warranty card, and Casio strap, which is how these rarely turn up.Condition: Overall we rated this as Very Good. White powdery residue from old battery leakage is present throughout the battery compartment on the walls, floor, and around the spring, as seen in photos. The battery terminals themselves are clean with no corrosion. Light scuffing on the gray plastic body, mostly on the back and lower edge. Scratches on the black plastic around the control panel edges. All six rubber strings are present and intact with no tears. All fret buttons and the four drum pads are present. Control panel buttons are all present with the labels crisp and fully readable. Rear jacks are clean with no bent MIDI pins. The Casio strap is intact with the logo readable and no fraying. The original box shows shelf wear with edge scuffing and softening at the corners. Manual and warranty card show age with slight yellowing and creasing.Test Results: Fully tested and working. Powers up and the built in speaker produces sound. All fret buttons trigger correctly across the neck. All six strings respond. All 20 tones and 12 rhythms select and play. The four drum pads trigger. Volume and transpose controls function. MIDI out sends note data. Headphone and line outputs pass signal.Details:Digital guitar synthesizer with rubber strings and fret button triggering20 preset tones, 12 preset rhythmsFour drum pads on the upper bout: snare, high tom, low tom, cymbalMIDI out for use as a guitar controllerTranspose functionBuilt in speaker, headphone and line outputsPower: six 1.5V D cells or the Casio AD-5 adapter, 9V DC, 4.3 wattsCasio Computer Co., Ltd., made in Japan, 1987 to 1988Serial number 12052301Original box, owner's manual, warranty card, and Casio strap includedIn the Milwaukee Area?
