This is a Fender Japan "String Master SM-2 Steel Guitar (1993-1994)".
This "String Master SM-2 Steel Guitar" is a limited-edition reissue by Fender Japan in the 1990s of the Fender "String Master" steel guitar, which was produced and shipped from 1953 to around 1980.
It was conceived after a Fender Japan director at the time discovered molds and parts remaining at the USA factory, and it was produced as a limited edition using some parts from the original USA model.
Due to its extremely limited production run, it is a rare item that rarely appears on the used market.
It features a 24 1/2-inch (approximately 622mm) long scale, producing an exquisite sustain suitable for a wide range of genres, from Hawaiian music to country, rock, and blues.
The length of the four legs is adjustable, allowing you to play while sitting or standing.
Each pickup is a single-coil.
Controls are 1 Volume, 1 Tone, and a neck selector switch.
The balancer pot (blender) inside the bridge cover (ashtray) allows you to blend the front pickup's sound with the rear pickup's.
Unfortunately, the coil of the upper front pickup appears to be broken and it does not produce sound.
Only the rear pickup is usable on the upper side.
The exterior is in excellent condition with no noticeable scratches.
We ship using EMS or DHL from Japan.
It is fast, very safe at a cheap cost.
