This unique guitar banjo was built in 2016 by Andreas Köpke based on the Vega Tubaphone banjos. It is a custom-made instrument for the German musician and actor Tommi Piper (best known as the voice of Alf).

The instrument is intended to evoke the American jazz guitarist Johnny St. Cyr, whose portrait is inlaid on the back of the tuning head. Perfectly crafted and fitted with high-quality brass hardware, the “Banjitar” sounds significantly better than its historical models.

Length 88 cm, scale length 58 cm, nut width 45 mm, head diameter 12"

In addition to the 12" Tubaphone tone ring, the shorter scale length (tenor) is another distinctive feature of the instrument. The tuning mechanisms operate smoothly, and the adjustable neck ensures perfect string action. The banjo comes with a new Remo Renaissance head and bridge; a case can be purchased separately and is not included in this offer.

The instrument shows minimal signs of age and use, such as small dings on the edges or some patina on the brass hardware.

A truly special and unique guitar banjo, tuned and ready to play!
