Up for sale, a circa 1968 Kay Clermont model S667 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original chipboard case. Far more commonly seen under Supro branding, the Clermont was only produced from 1967-68, coinciding with the acquisition of the Kay brand by Valco (responsible for the National and Supro brands, among many others for which it produced instruments on an OEM basis). Offered alongside the similar Croydon model, the more deluxe Clermont features a chrome-plated Fender offset-style vibrato and a pair of humbucker-sized “Power-Tone” single coil pickups with goil foil cosmetic accents.

The maple hollowbody construction results in ample natural bark and projection, providing an ideal platform for the Power-Tone single coil pickups. Plugged in, this Kay delivers thick, glassy, and powerful tones, with focused punch at the bridge and broad, smooth breadth at the neck. These humbucker-sized single coils utilize large ceramic magnets, resulting in a potent sound with exceptional clarity. This Clermont weighs 7lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Red lacquer finish exhibits only faint buckle worming central to the back, a couple tiny chips on the edge of the top, and some faint scuffs in the clear coat. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless save for one shallow mark central to the carve behind fret 11.

The original chipboard case is included and equally as well-kept as the guitar.
