Gibson Master Museum Hummingbird Koa Ren Ferguson Custom Acoustic Guitar

Here we have a Gibson Master Museum Hummingbird built in 2003 by famed Master Luthier Ren Ferguson!

As you know, Ren is among the best of the best of luthiers. His guitars are heralded as the holy grails of the Bozeman-era Gibson guitars. Many people, myself adamantly included, believe his Gibson guitars are the best Gibson guitars ever made in any era. This guitar is a prime example of why we believe this.

This guitar was custom made for a customer and is a complete one-of-a-kind creation. The design is just gorgeous!

The body is all master-grade figured koa. The fretboard is jet-black genuine ebony; the neck is mahogany.

The fretboard features a masterpiece of abalone and pearl inlays. Flowers, hummingbirds, butterflies, and a vine climb their way up to the stunning headstock where two larger hummingbirds play among the trees. Just stunning! The pickguard also features hand-engraved Hummingbirds, flowers, and butterflies.

As you can imagine, the guitar sounds every bit as good as it looks. I once asked Ren what his secret was for building such great sounding guitars. His response was "I pick wood that already knows how to sing." This bird sure knows how to sing!

Ren's signature can be found on the underside of the top. He built the guitar for a Japanese man named "Mamada", who he inscribed the signature to.

The guitar is in excellent condition, having only been played lightly during its life.

Included with the guitar is the original hardshell case.
