This is a partially restored Bösendorfer Grand piano from 1840 approximately 6'8'' in length. The previous owner had the action restored and new strings put on. This was one of the first pianos made that Liszt couldn't break and for this reason, Bösendorfer became such a popular and well-sought-after piano manufacturer. Made in Austria, this piano was manufactured during Chopin's life, and, though there is no record of him playing this exact piano, the sound that this piano makes would be the same sound Chopin heard while writing his famous etudes, preludes, mazurkas, etc.
