Westone Thunder 1A bass made in the Matsumoku factory in Japan in 1984. This is Version 2 of three types of Thunder 1A basses and this version was made between 1983 and 1985 with a maple body and neck. It has a single split coil pickup with volume control and active and passive tone controls. The knobs are in brass and the active tone knob has B-O-T on the top - (bass/off/treble). There are also two micro switches, one which is the active on/off and the other is a dual tone switch. The bridge/tailpiece is also in brass and is fully adjustable.
The neck is bolted on and the neckplate is stamped ''a Matsumoku product made in Japan''; and the headstock has the two on a side Westone tuners, ''Westone'' logo and truss rod cover stamped with the words ''Thunder 1A bass''.
This was originally a 20 fret bass but in the past it has been de fretted professionally and filled , so the fingerboard is very smooth and very useable and there are fret dots on the edge.
The condition is very good showing very few marks, all of which are very minor. It comes with a hardcase.
