Up
for sale is a 1984 Greco EGC 550 John Sykes Custom in good working
order. Made
in Japan, the EGC-550
was part of the Mint Collection "Rock History" series of
signature models released by Greco. Styled after the John Sykes Les
Paul Custom, it
has
a thick/round neck and huge tone. Long tenon construction, i
believe they're a mahogany body with a maple cap.
The
harness features the original full-size pots that date to ‘84, as
well as the same high quality braided pickup leads seen on any
Gibson. Both pickups are
original Greco “Scream'in 1982” humbuckers. Nice tone and feel. All
electronics are original except for a toggle switch.
The
neck is Straight and it can play very comfortable with low-action
(1.3mm/1.8mm) at the 12th fret. The frets are around 70%
and show some wear at lower fret positions but no dead-spots. The
truss rod works fine at either directions.
The
body has some dings and buckle rash on the backside, dings and
bruises on the sides, some scratches near the upper bridge post, a
few minor dings and light scratches on the top but the top is clean
compared with the other part. Pickguard is missing. The neck has a
few minor chips at the tip of the headstock, a hairline crack near
the string nut, a few nicks and a couple of minor dings on the
backside but otherwise clean neck. Back of the neck smooth. The metal
hardware has scratches and is tarnished but looks great.
You
can see the High-res photos. For more details please see the photos.
The
weight of the guitar is 4.28kg(9.43lbs). No case included but will be
correctly packed for shipment.
I
pack carefully for a long journey!
