1953 D’Angelico blonde cutaway New Yorker in excellent condition. Purchased from the original owner in 1997 whose name appears in the D’Angelico ledger by serial number. The guitar was expertly rebound so you won’t have to worry about celluloid degradation issues. The binding on the Pick guard on some of these does not deteriorate like the celluloid guard material. The binding on the guard is original with replaced celluloid guard material. A Superb example, one of the best I’ve seen in my 40 years of searching for fine vintage guitars.
The guitar sounds and plays as good as it looks. You won’t find any filled in holes on side of the neck or plugged jack holes on this guitar and the finish is original. Comes in the original case with Remanent of the original owners name. The scale length is 25 inches and it measures 18 inches across the lower bout. The nut width is 1 3/4” and the neck is extremely comfortable, one of the nicest you’ll play on any modern or vintage guitar.
Shipping is obviously a logistical problem and I will need to work out an insurance policy of course. I prefer not to ship it unless absolutely necessary. I could meet the buyer halfway throughout the northeast / mid-Atlantic area.
