Small-scale load box, made in the UK.

Simple, passive load box, which is specially designed to get a real tube amp signal via a following audio interface into computer and/or DAW.

Therefore it has no speaker/cabinet simulation built-in, instead you can post-process the pure, unadulterated tube amp signal signal on the computer with an additional impulse response loader (e.g. Recabinet, Nadir, Wall of Sound,...) and suitable guitar speakers or cabinet impulse responses.

The point is, to get an authentic tube amp sound into the computer eg. in a small personal/home studio, where you probably are unable to really record a full blown up tube amp cabinet through microphones, whereby the load box simulates the speaker impendance to the amp, so that the amp can be used without speakers and also reduces the output signal to an adjustable, recordable DI level.

Of course you can also use an amp simulation directly in the computer instead of a freal tube amp, there are enough of them available, but their quality varies a lot and my not always give you the expected results. In addition, your own favorite amp may sound a little different than any available amp sim, so it may make sense to record with your real tube amp instead od using an amp sim. The unit also will be useful if you want to authentically record your own amp and your own pedalboard together.

In this case you still have the advantage that you can use a lot of different IR's to simulate cabinets and speakers that you probably wouldn't actually own or have at hand.

The device is connected to the amp instead of the speaker, the easily controllable signal is then routed to the audio interface and recorded or processed in the computer.

It worked fine for me with good IR's (e.g. from Ownhammer, Celestion, Twonotes, Seacow,...).

The unit does what it should. As far as the amp is properly wired, I did not notice any ground hum or noise with some tube amps. Maybe you may need a virtual noise gate for high-gain sounds, but this you also need with a lot of high-gain amp sims.

In addition to the option of using the load box for recording, you could also use it to play your own tube amp at home through the computer (speakers, monitors), instead of using a power attenuator and a guitar cabinet at home.
