The Maison FA Series stands for Full Acoustic guitar. The Maison line started in the late 1970s strictly for the Japanese market. These early guitars were built in Korea. Sometime in the 90s, production was moved to China and the Maison line is still sold in Japan.
Maison's guitars began by being hand-built in a small workshop in Korea. Maison guitars where finished to a very high level and frequently contained high quality wood and hardware. Later the brand was taken over by a major Korean company called 'Yoojin' in the early 1990's. Yoojin does not exist as one more company, but still made a number of Maison guitars after he took the company
