Modulus Black knife 1987 red

Cool and somewhat rare axe from the late 80s for sale. 

Presented is a Modulus Black knife superstrat from around 1987, probably +/- 1 year. The guitar is in used condition - as a you'd expect from a 30+ year old guitar, but it plays real nice. Action is low, and the neck feel exceptionally smooth. The neck has a C-shape, not too different from Charvels from the same period - or Fender for that mater. Since it is made of graphite, there is no truss-rod.

The hardware is all Gotoh. The original gotoh tremolo was very recently swapped out with a brand new Gotoh GE1996T, which is IMO one of the best trems you can buy. The trem is currently set up to be floating, and is very smooth. Original tremolo comes with the guitar. 

Pickups are a HSS set of active Seymour-Duncan Live Wire. The humbucker reminds me of SD JB, and the single-coils are smooth. Great for both clean and leads. They're wired in 18 volts. 

(If you know you're gonna swap out the pickups for something else, I can give you a lower price and just wiring them out myself)

The color is a trans red finish. Not sure what material the bod is. 

As for wear and tear: 

- Frets have some wear to 'em, but mostly in the lower / 1st to 9th fret region. No buzz though, and there's plenty of life left. 
- There's a visible ding right by the neck pickup, where bare wood shows. 
- General pick and belt-buckle scratches on front and back of the guitar. 

All in all, I'd rate the guitar as "fair" because of these things. It plays like a dream though, so if you're looking for a unique 80s shredder axe in the same range as old Charvel San Dimas, Zion, Tom Anderson, ESP, and such, then this is no doubt a good piece. 

The guitar comes with original hard-case. 

As for shipping: The guitar is located in Norway (Tromsø, to be exact), and will be shipped from there. Shipping to US or EU runs about 100 EUR, and comes with tracking. The guitar will be boxed up and shipped safely.
