Available for sale is this stunningly beautiful and very rare Yamaha GC-20D classical guitar. This guitar was built in the Nippon Gaki factory in Japan by famed luthier Toshio Kato.
The most important feature of this guitar is the solid Brazilian Rosewood (Jacaranda) back and sides. Any guitar built with this exotic wood instantly inherits a price tags of a least a few thousand dollars, and there is much more to this guitar than that.
The attention to detail is excellent! Check out the beautiful rosette, bridge inlay, binding and purfling, headstock carve, tuners, and nut!
The guitar is rounded out with a solid Cedar top, cedar neck, and beautiful black ebony fretboard.
Cosmetically, it shows typical wear of a fingerpicker and has one small finish crack near the neck on the treble side of the body. Very minor and stable. It has some other small indentations in the top but nothing major given the age of the guitar and the fact that it was played.
The bridge appears to have at one point been reglued or at least reinforced. The top looks to be bulging ever so slightly but the action is still good, although the saddle doesn't have much meat left.
It includes what is likely the original case. The guitar is ready to be played and is a beautiful piece for the collector or player.
