This is a truly incredible kit. It has been preserved as a time capsule. This is likely the finest known example of this rare set. We have a Trixon NEW OLD STOCK Speedfire in gold glass glitter. The sizes are: 13x25.5 - 19 (elliptical shaped),15x16, 8x13, 5x14". The kit is in remarkable condition, with the original plastic heads on toms and snare and the original calf heads on the bass drum. One of the snare drum lugs which has a broken insert, easy to replace. Also, everything is original except for two of the tightening screws on the floor tom leg brackets. The strainer was the version with plastic parts. These are brittle and replacements are not available. Snare is best to leave as a display item. This is truly a set that belongs in a collection as the cornerstone piece.

This is an amazing find. This is one of 4 New Old Stock Trixon sets that we have. These drum sets come from a music store that I first visited over 20 years ago. At that time, these sets had already been sitting there unsold for 30 years. These 4 Trixon sets are New Old Stock. I had wanted to purchase these sets and some other drums when I visited, but wasn't able to. We have now been able to acquire these sets and some other instruments. The drums you see here have been unsold since they were delivered new over 50 years ago. Based on the colors and configurations, I have a theory as to how this delear may have come to have 4 different sets all at the same time: Back in the 60s and into the 70s the annual NAMM music trade show used to be held in Chicago in the summer. My guess is that these sets were on display at the show, and that this local dealer bought the entire Trixon booth. That practice is not unusual and I have done it myself in the past. It allows you to have a wide variety of a manufacturers product on hand, and there are often extra discounts, so why not!
Anyhow, we acquired these kits recently. Since they sat for 50 years they needed cleaning, but we have now finished the work.
