1962 Supro Model 1410 Comet Lap Steel Vintage Electric Slide Guitar 100% Stock

Up for sale, a 1962 Supro 1410 Comet lap steel in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced by the Valco company in Chicago (home of National, Airline and others), the Comet steel has clean lines and tuxedo cosmetics. The classic Supro string through pickup has great punch and a sinewy, glassy twang, pushing small tube amps into moderate overdrive with good cut and rich harmonic content. The steel is strung with roundwound 12-52 strings.

The black playing surface is in great shape, with geometric inlay up the scale. On the headstock, the original Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines are intact and turn smoothly, and the original Valco serial number badge is also present. All of the electronics work as they should, with the original knobs and black pickup cover. The metal Supro badge is still riveted to the top behind the pickup, and the gloss white finish shows sparingly little wear. The bright white finish has only one small scuff of note, and there's a similarly small scuff on the treble side of the plastic pickup cover.

This vintage Supro steel has a rich and powerful tone via the stock pickup, and this 100% original steel is ready for stage and studio work.
