Hiwatt DR103 Clone by Ceriatone Amplification

Up for sale I have my Ceriatone Hey What?! 103 guitar amplifier head. It is a clone of the mid 70s Hiwatt DR103 used by a variety of acts including Led Zeppelin, The Who, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and King Crimson. This amp kicks out 100 watts of such pure, powerful tone that it really compliments the pedals put through it rather than competes with them like some other amps. On the other hand it has the rich, classic 'British' tone which stands out so distinctively, particularly when the amp is cranked up.

I bought this amp March of last year. It was shipped to me without tubes and head cabinet by request. Upon arrival (4/1/13) I brought the amp to the tube amp guru at Cranky's in Mansfield. We hand selected a full set of new tubes, installed them and set the bias. While it was there we also replaced all the 1000pF, 0.022uF and 0.047uF tone capacitors with new old stock Mullard Mustards just like the original Hiwatts from the 60s, 70s. It's definitely got that vintagey mojo in there. The guts of this amp are truly a masterpiece! I will try to get pics up ASAP.

The head cabinet came from GABKITS of the USA. They have since ceased operations as of May 30, 2014 but they used to make Ceriatone specific cabinets.This is the Ceriatone Hey What?! Heirloom model. I opted for gabkits instead of the stock Ceriatone because it's got the exact look of the original Hiwatts. The custom appointments included polished chrome handles, Hiwatt black tolex and white welt bordering.

I also have a reproduction Hiwatt name plate from HI-TONE Amplification that I am going to include in the purchase. You can choose to put it on or leave it off.
