The Fender Custom Shop 1970s Tele Custom Heavy Relic captures the spirit of a well-loved workhorse that’s seen decades of studio and stage time. Finished in Super Faded Aged Sonic Blue, this Limited Edition model showcases authentic Heavy Relic aging for that unmistakable worn-in look and feel that only Fender’s Custom Shop can deliver.
Crafted from select 2-piece ash and paired with a quartersawn maple neck and fingerboard, this Tele Custom delivers lively resonance, crisp articulation, and exceptional stability. The 1965 Strat “C” neck profile and 7.25"–9.5" vintage compound radius combine for smooth playability across the fretboard, while 21 narrow tall frets provide effortless bending and precision. Tonally, the pairing of a Custom Shop Hand-Wound Twisted Tele single-coil bridge pickup and a Wide Range CuNiFe humbucker at the neck captures the best of both worlds — classic Tele bite with full, rounded humbucker warmth.
Outfitted with period-correct hardware and finishing touches — compensated brass saddles, vintage “F”-style tuners, and witch hat control knobs — this Tele Custom delivers vintage character with modern refinement. Available how at Haggerty’s Music, this guitar includes a Deluxe Hardshell Case, strap, and Certificate of Authenticity from the Fender Custom Shop.
