Greco Thunderbird 1980s - Lavender Copper Metallic

Greco Thunderbird, made in Japan in the 1980s, after our makeover - the original black finish has been sanded down and we sprayed on our thin nitro in an eye-catching copper/lavender color. The guitar is slightly relic'd, the patina on the hardware is original.

The bass' body is made of alder with a maple/rosewood neck - so it's a brighter sounding wood combo than mahogany found in classic Gibsons, thanks to which the guitar doesn't sound muddy, but has more of upper-mids - and is capable of growling!

Contary to a modern plastic-fantastic Gibson, this guitar has solid, big Gotoh tuners, brass tailpiece - thanks to which the wingind doesn't end on the bridge saddles - pickups with metal covers and metal frames.Does this bass neck-dive? Sure as fuck it does!Despite having a big body (which is pretty thin, so doesn't weigh that much) the guitar's weight is very managable. The neck itself is very thin, almost racing-slim, with big jumbo frets and 15" radius.

Aside from the visual makeover, the guitar went through a thorough restoration:

- Fret levelling, crowning and polishing,

- Cleaning and maintenance of the electronics,

- New jack socket,

- New strings,

- Cleaning and maintenance of the fretboard,

- Nut adjustment,

- A pro set-up.
