Shin-Ei FY-2 Companion Fuzz.
Here for your consideration is a clone along with some modern features and extra tone shaping. This pedal uses the original circuit from the FY-2 with a couple of necessary improvements. There is a boost circuit placed after the fuzz giving it the ability to boost volume when needed (original FY-2 could barely achieve unity volume). There is also an added control knob to bring some of the midrange back to the tone of the fuzz or scoop the midrange to the stock position, changing the overall tone of the pedal. Both of these mods allow the FY-2 companion fuzz to be used in a live situation and be heard! This version uses two silicon 2N2222a transistors for a tight and high gain fuzz. Top quality parts are used throughout the build (switchcraft jacks, CIC footswitch, alpha pots, etc..) as well as great attention to detail. Uses 9v center negative (boss psa standard) power supply or 9v battery and is true bypass with an LED indicator. Powdercoated enclosure with hand stamped label and vintage Dakaware Chicago knobs.
