Abigail Ybarra Fender Custom Shop Pickups
This particular set of Red Hot's was made for a very limited period and only appeared in select Custom shop guitars.
They are her highest wound pickup at approx 7.3k each but still have great dynamics feel, tone and clarity but with an added shot of fire that really makes them sing! These pickups can be hear in the video link.
'Abby's' winds are sublime and take you back to a bygone era when pickups (Fender pre cbs and Gibson PAF'S) had great touch sensitivity and tone. This touch sensitivity and harmonically rich tone seems to have been lost throughout the years resulting in stiffer, flatter, sterile sounding pickups. However for those of you like my self which like to play with nuance and emotion 'Abby winds' are worth the money.
