a highly modified, very playable bass from the Jack Bruce estate, this 1950’s slab body EB-0 is modded with a 60’s eb-3 pickup, along with pertinent volume and tone control. Added toggle switch, routed rear cavity to accommodate the pots added. original front pickup with replacement chrome cover, for fashion.
Banjo tuners removed and doweled,replacement tuners.
This bass a a personal instrument modified to this version by Jack Bruce and was used at home and on demo recordings according to The wife of the late bassist. There aren’t any pictures existing of Jack with the bass. It was given by Jack to a friend some years ago, and cataloged along with his other possessions by his wife. Certificate of authenticity is included.
Great playing bass gives a tone not unlike a jazz bass, and is very playable.
