This is a very rare early 80's Erlewine Automatic, part of a very small lot made by Hondo under license by Mark Erlewine. All the rest were hand made by Mark in Texas. Only about 300 of these were made.

This model was made famous by Billy Gibbons and Mark Knopfler. Other famous Erlewine guitars users are Johnny Winter, Don Felder or Joe Walsh. It is considered as one of the first superstrat ever made.

You can see Billy using one in ZZ Tops "Just Got Paid" from "Double Down Live", and Mark in "Industrial Disease" from "The Final Oz".

Les Paul style construction with stratocaster-like shape, mahogany body, set neck and and gorgeous flame maple top. Weighs 3.8kg. It has strings through the body type bridge. Deep V shaped neck. Heaps of sustain.

The guitar is in good condition, it had a small chip in the back that has been repaired, though the color is not quite the same (shown in photos). Frets are in very nice condition.

Hard case included.
