About this listing
1990s Zildjian IAK K Custom Ride - 18" - 1950gThe ubiquitous K Custom Ride, used by Dennis Chambers, Weckle, Colaiuta, Gadd, Erskine… Everyone had this cymbal in the mid 80’s to early 90’s, at the time there was quite nothing like it. A fully unlathed top and bottom, a striking bell, and a prominent stick definition with an array of exotic washy overtones beneath each stroke.Although this model is different from most K Custom Rides you’ll come across! This specific model came out of the factory naturally unpolished and almost looking like an over-hammered earth ride! This finish adds a dry complexity to it which seems to be uncommon amongst these models, they are usually polished and golden. IAK refers to the mid 80’s to early 90’s manufacturing of Zildjian Cymbals, These cymbals tend to have similar hammering characteristics to EAK’s At the 18” Size, this cymbal has an emphasis on clarity and attack for nuanced sticking patterns When you purchase from Tone House Studios, your order will be thoroughly inspected and carefully packaged to ensure that your gear arrives promptly and safely.
