About this listing
FEEL FREE TO REACH OUT TO JOE'S VINTAGE GUITARS in Mesa, AZ with any questions, or to chat about the instrument.Up for sale is an exceptionally rare and breathtaking 1934 Martin C-2 archtop. While many of these vintage Martin archtops have been converted to flat tops over the years, finding an authentic, unconverted original is a monumental challenge for the serious collector. This is a pristine opportunity to own a pure, factory-original piece of Martin history.Tone & Playing ExperienceIn our opinion, these instruments sound phenomenal, possessing a completely unique voice unlike anything else in the acoustic world. They occupy a gorgeous sonic middle ground between a traditional archtop and a flat top—delivering the woody, focused punch and quick decay of an archtop combined with the rich warmth, depth, and overtones of a classic Martin flattop. They are exceptionally responsive and an absolute joy to play.Wood & ConstructionThis C-2 features a stunning set of straight-grained Brazilian rosewood back and sides that exhibit incredible depth and character.Condition & OriginalityOriginality: 100% original and completely unconverted.Structural Integrity: Remarkably, this guitar is totally crack-free—a true rarity for a 1930s acoustic instrument of this caliber. There are no cracks whatsoever.Cosmetic Condition: Shows honest, expected play wear appropriate for its vintage, adding to its authentic pre-war character.Frets & Setup: The frets are in excellent shape. They were recently gone over by our expert technician—a true specialist in vintage Martins and bar frets—meaning this instrument is set up like a dream and plays great up and down the neck.Original Case: The original case has some damage on the headstock area but works well.
